Should we notify our donors about migrations of recurring plans?

Notifying donors may cause confusion and cancellations.

We don't recommend alerting donors of recurring plan migrations as it could result in cancellations.

If you'd like to alert them anyway, we'd recommend framing the email in a marketing light such as mentioning the donor portal addition, upgrading services, etc.

This could also serve as a "heads up" for any potential failure emails. In the event of a failure, the donor must click the link in the email and update their payment method.
