If you look in your Integrations under Settings, and you see Bloomerang (Legacy), have no fear! Updating is seamless and comes with a few great improvements.
Using the new Integration
If you've connected your Fundraise Up dashboard to Bloomerang prior to Nov 12, 2020, and you go to your Integrations screen under Settings, you'll see that your Bloomerang integration is called Bloomerang (Legacy):
Updating to the new Bloomerang Integration is quick, and will retain all your settings from the prior version. We call it "Legacy" because it uses Bloomerang's prior version of their API.
First, click the Add Integration button, and choose Bloomerang from the popup.
That'll bring you to a screen explaining the integration in full. Click the Connect Bloomerang button on this screen, and follow the instructions.
If you're already logged in to Bloomerang, the page will just let you click the Grant Access button to connect the new Integration. If not, you'll need to log in to Bloomerang on that screen to Grant Access.
Once you grant access, the new Integration will be connected to your Bloomerang account, and it will bring over your settings, mapping rules, and special rules from your legacy integration.
The Integration, once connected, will be Paused so that it doesn't automatically sync gifts before you're ready:
Once you're ready to have the new Bloomerang integration automatically sync new donations, scroll to the bottom of the Integration screen and click the Enable Automatic Sync button!
Bloomerang's v2 API allows us to do the following:
- Pass in Tribute information for donations.
- Fill in previously blank Appeal fields when running historical syncs.
- Stay up to date with their improvements, so that we can make any additional updates made to Bloomerang's API available to you.
- Remain supportable - at some point Bloomerang will discontinue support for their Legacy API, at which point our Integration that uses their Legacy API would stop working.
